About me
I’m Karen Huang, a Brazilian architect with a deep love for design and the stories spaces can tell. To me, great design is timeless, personal, and meaningful. It’s much more about what you feel than what you see, capturing the spirit of a place and the people who live in it.

I grew up in vibrant São Paulo, where my interest in architecture started early. While still in school, I worked in project management and was exposed to everything from large-scale developments to more intimate, boutique projects. Those early experiences shaped how I see design today and taught me to value both the big picture and the smallest details.

Wanting to focus more deeply on interior architecture, I moved to study at Berkeley University. After graduating, I built my career in the U.S., working on high-end hospitality and residential projects, refining my process and developing a thoughtful, detail-driven approach to design.

With over a decade of experience, I bring creativity, care, and precision to every project. Extensive travel has also shaped my work, giving me a global perspective and an intuitive way of blending cultures, materials, and ideas.

What type of works do you take on?
I focus on residential and hospitality projects, where I get to design thoughtful, timeless spaces that are both functional and full of character. I work on everything from full interior architecture to detailed finishes, custom furniture, and curated decor that ties a space together.I also love collaborating with clients to bring their unique visions to life—whether it's creating a cozy, personal home or an inviting, luxurious hotel or rental property. How do you charge for projects ?
I charge hourly for my services, which allows for flexibility depending on the scope of the project. This includes everything from the initial concept and 3D renderings to detailed design work, material selection, and overseeing the implementation.I also offer a complimentary initial consultation to understand your vision, timeline, and budget. From there, I can provide a clear estimate of how many hours your project might require, ensuring transparency every step of the way.If you're curious or want to discuss a specific project, feel free to reach out—I’d be happy to walk you through the process!

How involved will I need to be in the design process?
That’s entirely up to you! I tailor the process to match your level of involvement. If you prefer to be hands-on, we can collaborate closely on decisions, ensuring every detail aligns with your vision. On the other hand, if you’d rather take a step back and trust me to handle the details, I’m happy to take the lead while keeping you informed at key milestones. Either way, my goal is to make the process as smooth and enjoyable as possible for you!
